1981 DeLorean DMC-12: The Brushed Steel Time Machine

Conceived by former GM executive John Z. DeLorean as an ethical, long-lasting sports car, the DMC-12 is one of the most unconventional vehicles of the 20th century. Designed by Italdesign's Giorgetto Giugiaro, the car featured a fiberglass underbody wrapped in unpainted, brushed SS304 stainless steel sheet metal.

Counterbalanced gullwing doors lifted effortlessly via cryogenically preset torsion bars, allowing entry in tight parking spaces with just 11 inches of clearance.

Powered by a rear-mounted 2.85L Peugeot-Renault-Volvo (PRV) V6, the car was elevated to global cinematic legend when it starred as Doc Brown's plutonium-powered time machine in *Back to the Future*.
